Today is a Good Day

I love photography. I love to take it, and love seeing the glory of nature through the camera lens of others. The moment I opened my eyes in the morning, I saw gorgeous clouds. I jumped into shorts, a top and flip-flops. I clipped my hair up, and grabbed my camera. Hygiene and beauty can wait thirty minutes.

Later in the day, I received this video of Louie Schwartzberg on Gratitude. It was sent to me a few days before my last cancer related surgery. As I watched it, I decided to view this as my prayer of gratitude. The video’s about 10 minutes long and worth every one of them. Thanks Mr. Schwartzberg!

No phone. No T.V.. Not much money. By society’s standards, the guy must have been miserable, right? As he puts it, he had “time and a sense of wonder.” In the video, Schwartzberg mentions people react to his photography with, Oh. My. God.

He then asks the audience, “Have you ever wondered what that meant?” The Oh means, it caught your attention. It made you present, and mindful. The My means it connects with something deep inside your soul. It creates a gateway from within for something to be heard. God is that personal journey we all want to be on. To be inspired. To feel like we’re connected to a universe that celebrates life.” His current project, Happiness Revealed gives insight to this very idea. Enjoy his photography and the message.  Gratitude

Is gratitude your mantra? What are you exploring? Are you activating your imagination?

“If you learn to respond to each day as if it is the very first day—and the very last day of your life, then you will have spent the day well.”  —From the man in the video.

  1. Hi Claudia,

I’m so happy to see you enjoyed my video and are spreading inspiration through your blog. At the end of the day, hearing that I’ve touched other people is why I love filmmaking. If you want to keep up to date with my new projects and events, please feel free to follow me on twitter or facebook at twitter.com/louiefilms or facebook.com/louiefilms.

    With gratitude,
    Louie
